Lewiston Quilt

Introducing Lewiston! This is my latest quilt pattern design that utilizes fat quarters and is a complete stash buster! And that secondary checkerboard pattern that emerges just makes me swoon. What do you think?

Throw size Lewiston quilt

I’m calling this pattern an advanced beginner as it utilizes four at a time flying-geese construction. Which, if you are complete beginner at quilting, could be considered challenging. This should not turn you off to this pattern though, as it will walk you through not only how to construct them but also how to square them up. Who doesn’t love those beautiful points!

Design possibilities!

Lewiston can be made to look more coordinated or be made to have a scrappier look. The choice is yours!

I have designed this pattern to give a “faux” scrappy look by simply mixing and matching the fabrics throughout block construction. This makes it perfect for those who love scrappy looking quilts but hate working with scraps (gasp! How dare I say not everyone likes to make a big mess with scraps LOL). For some, scraps are overwhelming. The Lewiston pattern also doesn’t add to ones scrap pile. It uses almost whole FQs with very little waste and even includes a bonus pattern project. Seems like a win win to me!

A Lewiston bonus project in its natural habitat.

This pattern is written for 3 sizes: baby, throw and bed size. It also includes a coloring page as well as the bonus project pattern mentioned previously. Pictured to the right is the baby size.
